Beaver Travel joins the Clyde Travel Management family

Clyde Travel Management are delighted to announce that they have taken ownership of Beaver Travel based in the north of Scotland.

Established in 1973 and managed by the Widdowson family since 1999, Beaver Travel has built a strong legacy based on outstanding personal service as well as being a community hub. The business is known for their support and engagement with projects in and around Elgin and Forres where the two offices are based. Clyde, which is also the owner of Alba Travel in Inverness, will aim to continue to cement and build on this reputation going forward.

Fiona Widdowson who, along with her husband Ian, nurtured Beaver Travel for the last 18 years said: “We are confident that under the management of Paul Cronje and his team, Beaver Travel will continue to serve the communities it operates in with the professionalism, expertise and kindness it has done for the last 40 years. We would like to thank everyone for their support and loyalty over the past 18 years we have been involved, and in particular we thank the fantastic team at Beaver who make it the business it is.”

Retaining everything that has made Beaver Travel the number one choice for holidays in this community, the team will continue to provide the same great service for which it has been known while benefiting from further investment in training and technology as Clyde unfolds its digital strategy for the next five years.
Commenting on the acquisition, Director Paul Cronje, stated: “We are delighted to have Beaver Travel join the Clyde family. It is a brand we have long admired as friendly competitors to our own leisure division, Alba Travel, but also as fellow partners within the Advantage Travel Partnership, the UK’s largest independent travel agent group.”

“Both brands are established institutions in their own communities, having both been in existence for over 40 years. We already enjoy a lot of shared values and I’m sure we will learn many good practices from each other as we move forward.”
